Rhododendrons- a familiar, beautiful plant found in many gardens and forests in the Pacific Northwest. In the world of Chilliwack landscaping, these reliable plants add a subtle charm in our yards.
Interesting fact- azaleas are, in fact, a type of rhododendron.
Living in the Fraser Valley means ample rain showers, and rhododendrons are well-equipped to handle them. They thrive in wet conditions, providing a subtle burst of color even on gloomy days!
While rhododendrons love moisture, they do not like waterlogged soil. Water deeply but less frequently to prevent root rot, especially during drier periods. Provide a balanced, acidic fertilizer in spring after the first sign of growth.

About Us

Our Story

Founded in 2007 in the scenic community of Chilliwack, BC, Valley Outdoors Design & Maintenance began as the vision of Justin Nicholson. With a Jeep Cherokee, a trailer, and a set of tools, Justin set out to provide an important service to the residents of Chilliwack. Valley Outdoors has grown with the community since that first season!

Our Commitment

What started as a one-man operation has blossomed into a flourishing landscaping company with a fleet of trucks and a dedicated team of professionals.

Starting with small yard installations at the beginning, the team at Valley Outdoors is now experienced at large scope landscape projects and project management as well. (We still love small gardening jobs too!)

Chilliwack Backyard Renovation

A backyard landscaping project completed in phases resulting in an amazing yard transformation. This space went from overgrown and not being used, to a beautiful, functional space. Composite decking, a large stone patio, pathways with two ponds were installed, as well as hydroseeding and garden beds.

A complete backyard redo that involved new fencing, raised garden beds, artificial turf and stamped concrete.

This backyard was transformed with the addition of a deck extension, privacy screens, a custom arbour, and planter boxes. Landscape lighting finished this space off beautifully.
